Reaching out

Like all churches we strive to find ways to make contact with people who are not members of St. Luke's. We accept that as a church we are here for non members as much as we are for our members.

Puppets are one way of approaching people. They are enjoyed by all and help in contacting people.

Puppet Ministry

For the last couple of years a group of people, ages ranging from 11 to 60+, have been developing a ministry using puppets to reach out and tell the Good News that Christ died in order to give us an opportunity to restore our relationship with God. We have been involved in services taking place in church and Messy Church (at Ravenmeols Community Centre and Redgate School); we have performed shows for the whole family at events at St Luke’s Tea Room and at the Churches Together Duke Street Fun Day.

The majority of what we have done so far has been in the form of the puppets miming to recorded music – occasionally worship songs but often Christian parodies of very familiar songs. We have also performed sketches and would like to be doing more of these as we grow and develop in our skills.

We welcome anybody aged 11 and above to join us in this ministry which is great fun.
